Health Care & Medical Home
The Raising Texas vision is that all children in Texas will be enrolled in a public or private health care program and will receive quality health related services in a medical home. To this end, Raising Texas works on increasing access to and insurance support for medical homes, which provide comprehensive physical and child development services for all children –including children with special health
care needs, as well as assessment, intervention, and referral of children with developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial needs. Furthermore, Raising Texas strives to improve the provision of prenatal services, ensure children under six are up-to-date on their immunizations, and increase access to and use of dental homes.
